At Broughton we have an active Parent/Teacher Association known as FOBIS.
The committee comprises of parents and teachers who work together to raise funds for the school in order to provide the extra items that we could not otherwise afford.
Throughout the year a number of activities are organised for children and parents.

The FOBIS AGM takes place once a year. If you would like to join the committee and help the school please contact Mrs Williams.
Community Links
The school has strong links with the local community. These links are constantly being developed and include visits from the school doctor, dentist, local policeman, church leaders, neighbourhood schools, various local community organisations and businesses. At times during the year the children entertain groups of elderly people from the neighbourhood.
Parental Help
Parents who wish to help in school are very welcome. Parents may just wish to help out generally in a classroom or specialise in a particular subject area. The school has a Parental help Policy which acts as a guideline for parents helping in school.

Opening Position
At the 1 September 2009, the amount carried forward from 2008/09 was £1,891.32.
Income
During the year 1 September 2009 to 31 August 2010, the expected income is £7,710 (exc floats). This has been raised through a number of events, and donations.
The largest fundraisers have been the Winter Fayre and Spring Fayre bringing in income of approximately £3,750. Other activities have included Hot dog days £450, Christmas events including baubles, secret shop and a carol concert among others £437, and the Christmas & Spring Disco £1,334. Plants & Bulb sales income amounted to £951.
Expenditure
During the year 1 September 2009 to 31 August 2010, expenditure is likely to be approximately £3,695 (exc floats). This includes commitments for the leavers disco.
The cost of running the fundraising activities to pay for prizes, discos, food, plants & bulbs etc will be around £1,977. Expenditure on admin amounted to £144, for lotteries and amusements licensing and NCPTA membership etc.
Donations to fund items in school have amounted to £1,573. This has been for topsoil for the school garden £184, Safety rails for the stage £630, a puppet show £260 and a dance workshop £499.
Year End Position
The net proceeds from fund raising activities are likely to be around £5,732 for 2009/10. For a full breakdown of fundraising activities please see the Profit & Loss Summary by Event.
The balance of fund remaining is likely to be approximately £5,907. This will be carried forward to 2010/11 .
The amount raised during 2009/10 has fallen from previous years, this is principally due to local companies no longer offering matched funding to employees, which in the past has brought in over £1,000 in some years.

I have enjoyed being Treasurer for the last 5 years, and would like to thank Mrs Williams & Mrs Reidy for always being so welcoming. I have had the chance to be part of several great teams and work with 4 different Chair's. I will miss being part of the FOBIS team at Broughton Infant School, and hope the new committee will continue to be successful in their fundraising efforts for the school.

NEWSLETTER Tuesday 18th May 2010
Spring Fayre A very big thank you to everyone who supported us at the Fayre on Saturday. The money raised was around £1,800 !! A very big success and we couldn't have done it without all your kind donations and support. If you brought cakes in on plates or in tins, please collect them from the front office by Wednesday after school or they will be disposed of. Walk to school breakfast - Wednesday 26th May As part of the walk to school week, FOBIS will be organising breakfast for the children as a reward for their good efforts walking. We would like to suggest a 50p contribution towards this and would be grateful if you could fill in the form below if your child is interested. Quiz Night Cancelled - Friday 18th June Unfortunately we have made the decision to cancel the Quiz Night. We know it won't affect some of you, but it falls in the middle of the World Cup Football and will affect numbers attending drastically.
